I din't get an news paper anything but i have a video.
I don't think that at this point in the race its ok to still be mud slinging. we have like 2 weeks left and i think who ever is on the fence should listen to the people they want to vote for not the people they dont want to vote for.
Libby Mitchell's efforts Cassy Surrette
I think her efforts will get her elected cause' she cares about the people of Maine.
Libby Mitchell Article
The article I read can be found here.
In the past, Libby Mitchell was caught in a picture laughing at a picture of George W. Bush with the words "International Terrorist." There is a video on the article, with the apology, which I watched as well. I don't really think this will help or hurt her chances of becoming governor because she did apologize for the picture, even though I don't think she should really have to. The other political parties, however, have called her a hypocrite, because she mentioned the mishaps of Paul LePage. I think this is just a tiny little thing and should be over looked. I do not think she should be judged because of a picture that was taken of her over a year ago. However, people might like the fact that she owned up to her mistake and didn't make a big deal of it or make excuses. So that was pretty cool.

WIth friends like these who needs enimies.
HAHA here it is.
People are saying that Libby Mitchel is to close to the teachers union. This started when an ad saying that Paul LePage was going to "would make big budget cuts to schools and would hurt education in Maine" But that same add was produced by the "political action Committee". The PAC just happens to share a phone number with the Maine Education Association.
Libby Mitchel is supported by the Maine Education Associations president Chris Galgay because she will be a "Educational Governor"

Interest Groups For Libby Mitchell
One group that has been endorsing Libby Mitchell is the Maine's Educational Association. The goal of the Maine's Education Association is to try and better conditions, salaries and benefits for teachers. They want to create programs for school funding and to make school just a better place. Libby Mitchell was once a teacher, so I can definitely see why they would back her up in her campaign.
Another group endorsing Libby Mitchell is The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organization (AFL-CIO). The group is mainly made up of Teachers, Miners, firefighters, bakers and plumbers; their main goal is to "...improve the lives of working families...." They are for work unions, they want to get everyone who works into the unions because they think that it will help everyone. They basically want to change everything about the job field. I'm not quite sure why they would endorse Libby, but they feel very strongly about her issues of education, jobs and the economy, according to this article. They like the way she has been giving those three things attention and her ideas for them.

Paul LePage
click here to see an advertisement using name calling propaganda, saying LePage is full of a number of lies in his speaches. This video is effective because people believe he isnt truthful and should not get their vote.
Here you will see a plain folk propaganda technique showing how LePage knows how it is to be a normal everyday american, and has also had a tough life, which is very effective to people to know that he has been in similar situations as them.

The first video is both repetition and name-calling propaganda. It is effective because it shows something people don't know, but you only have to watch about 30 seconds of the video to be able to get the idea of what it is about.

Libby Mitchell Propaganda
The first video I watched can be found here.
The video, titled "Meet Libby", and she talked about how it was growing up and working at a store her parents ran. Which could appeal to "Plain people" because it makes her seem like a real person and someone who likes to work and hopefully did it well. She also talked about her father, who "...never left anyone hungry..." and she doesn't intend for that to happen to anyone. The video makes her seem down to earth and friendly. She talks about how much loves Maine, and how she was a lovely parent to her children. The video also contains Transfer Propaganda, the video makes her sound really effective and hard working. They used words like "visions" and "essential" and "forward thinking" when describing her.
The second video I watched can be found here
Despite how short the video was, it was definitely against Libby and her view on taxes. The video kind of uses the Name Calling propaganda because the narrator talks down to the listener and talks bad about Libby, saying that she wants to lower taxes, but spend more. The video uses the words 'taxes' a lot, and everyone hates taxes, so the sentence 'higher taxes' is going to make anyone mad.
To be perfectly honest, I hate these commercials. I find them annoying and repetitive, I can't vote anyway. I suppose this propaganda would work on some people, but its not going to work on everyone. The second video might make some people worries about voting her because she apparently wants to spend millions and based on her prior voting to higher certain taxes, it might be enough "proof" for people to not vote for her. However, the first video makes me want to puke. I really don't care that she worked at a store when she was a kid, or that she never missed her kids games. I'd prefer to hear what she could do for me and what her plans would be for this state. And I'd like to see the slice of Maine that she absolutely adores, because from where I'm standing this state is crap. Just saying.

Money money money
Paul will reduce Maine’s excessive tax burden so Maine families can keep more of their own money. You know how best to spend or save your hard-earned wages, not government. Paul will control state spending to guarantee lower taxes, while ensuring our highest priorities and programs for our most vulnerable neighbors are supported. Last time i knew I thought this was called Communism. You getting money and the government having no say in how you spend it.So even though your credit is in the craper that don't have a say if you can pay for that "wave runner" that you put 2 down payments on for a 3 years. I guess I just don't like how hes going to try and change things. (Gabe) Got my info from here.
Jobs in Maine?
Paul will get government out of the way and allow Maine’s small businesses to create jobs. It’s time to get Maine working again, and that means tearing down the roadblocks that establishment politicians have built over the past 40 years. Smaller, smarter government is the key to new jobs and financial security for Maine families. Think about that for a second. If he wants to take government out of the picture and just let us run our selfs then how are we going to deal with the casino. If the casino passes it will take more money from schools. LePage also wants to take money away from schools doubling class room sizes and cutting teachers. So how are we going to get money when all of our cash is building casinos and playing with the school system?

Libby Mitchell Articles
You can find there articles I read here and here
The first article I read was titled Mitchell Announces her Education Platform. In the article, it said that she would like to grants to high school seniors, which I think is a lovely idea, considering the fact that I'm a high school senior and a grant would be awesome to have. She also wants to tackle the issue of school drop outs, though I believe that will be a difficult thing to change. I don't think new school programs can change minds of possible drop outs, school needs to become more interesting and kids need to get more motivated. One is probably thinking, how is she going to get the money? Mitchell says to change the "...state renegotiate its contract for liquor distribution..." to be perfectly honest, I'm not quite sure what this means, but it could be changing the price of alcohol or the age its legal to purchase it.
The second article I read was titled Libby Mitchell A History Making Choice for Governor. The article basically talked about the successes Mitchell has felt and her past in politics, being the first woman Senate President and House Speaker. It also talked vaguely about her goals: to improve education, health care, the environment and the economy. The article was basically a love letter as why she should be governor.

Information on Paul LePage

Paul LePage is a republican, currently the mayor of Waterville, and has been since 2004. He's running for governor. Paul left his house at the age of 11 and lived on the streets of Lewiston for a couple years. I think being from Maine may give someone a slight advantage. Paul has been general manager of Mardens since 1996. The issues that seem to be most important to Paul LePage are lowering taxes, and creating more jobs for Maine families.

Elizbeth "Libby" Mitchell

Libby Mitchell si running rof Governor, She is a democrat, She is from Vassalboro but she grew up in South Carolina. I don't think it makes a difference if she is from Maine or not, as long as she has our states best interest at heart. She was elected Senate president in December 2008. The thing that seems most important to her is education.

Geraldine Randall

Geraldine Randall is a Republican that is running for state representative. She was born in Gouldsboro, ME. Then lived in Birch Harbor, Brewer, Hermon, Bradford and now she resides in Hudson. Yes i believe that Geraldine being a Mainer will affect the amount of votes she will get. She is currently a Committee Woman in Augusta. She does not have one issue that is important to her, but multiple issues, which are Taxes, Transportation, the Economy, energy, and Education.
Autumn- Libby Mitchell
Libby Mitchell

Libby Mitchell was born in South Carolina and is running for Governor of the democratic party. Even though she is from South Carolina, she has lived in Maine for quite a while and was the 113th Senate President. She was the first woman to also serve for the Speaker of The House. I do not think it should really matter that she is from South Carolina because she has been in the Maine Government since the 1970's and therefore she should know what is best for this pitiful state.
She has an extensive list of everything she has done in her home of Vassalboro, including the Board of Selectmen. The main issues she is mostly focused one seems to be education, but she as also talked about Civil Rights, the economy and health care.
